Animosity - Why (not)?

We all are disturbed by the increase of polarization and intolerance in society. We are bombarded with news about war and violence.

Friends join opposing groups and feel threatened: mutual animosity follows.  We all have experience with animosity from outside as well as from inside, at home, at school, in the street, club, at work. We often feel powerless which feeds anger. Also in our appreciation of authorities there is anger: we are not taken seriously.

In our group we share experiences; some had to flee from violence.

What happens when we are confronted with animosity? What follows: fight, flight or freeze, or a discussion. Are we able to choose for escalation or de-escalation….

With ten artists we aim to visualize the confrontation and internal process, resulting in exhibition (Artroom De Melkfabriek, ’s-Hertogenbosch, Autumn 2026), with public meetings, prsentations and discussions
